Let's include this project in your Halloween party plans. Make hand puppets to enjoy during your family gathering as you celebrate Spooky night. These are not really that scary, but are fun to play with kids around.
Supplies:
- at least 3 colors of art papers (colors of your choice)
- scissors
- pencil and marker
- glue
Steps:
- I have chosen green, black, and blue art papers. So now, let's start with the blue one. This will be the base. Fold it leaving a half inch allowance.
- Apply glue on that half inch part, then fold it in to seal the paper.
- Fold it in half again. See photo.
- Fold back the first half leveling its edge at the fold. Do the same with the second half.
- So, it should have a zigzag effect of four equal squares.
- Get your black paper and cut out a triangular hat with a brim (a witch's hat).
- Stick it into one end of the folds. Slightly pull and fold it upwards. Then add a little detail like putting a strip of green on it.
- Take a 1x3 inch strip of orange paper and cut in half. Cut small lines in it and paste behind the hat so it now has hair.
- Attach or draw a face in the space below the hat. I cut eyes and a green paper nose and glued them in place.
- Cut out the shape of a tongue and paste it in the middle fold.
- Insert your fingers at the back of the face: four on the top opening and your thumb on the bottom.
- Enjoy Halloween talking to your paper puppets.
