With fall comes decorating with pumpkins. This is a very easy, quick pumpkin to make from scrap 2 by 4's.
Total Time: 1 hour
Yield: 2
Supplies:
- acrylic paint
- paint brush
- sand paper
- scrap 2 by 4"s
- wood glue
- clamp
- old tree branch
- raffia
- drill press
- saw
Steps:
- Cut four pieces of wood from 2 by 4"s. The two middle pieces should be the same height and the two smaller pieces, on the ends, should be the same height. Make it however small or big you want your pumpkin to be. Glue the pieces together with wood glue and attach a clamp to hold in place until dry. Remove clamps. Drill hole on top middle two pieces with a diameter the size of the piece of tree branch you will be using for the "stem" of the pumpkin.
- Paint with your favorite pumpkin or fall color. Let dry for at least one hour. Use sandpaper to weather the edges and to make the pumpkin look rustic. Tie a piece of raffia around stem.
