Handmade costumes are fun. They can dress like a hobo with a stick and bandana item. Carry a pillowcase for treats. Did this one year for fun at Halloween.

A hobo costume is very easy and inexpensive to make. Wear old jeans that can be cut up and smeared with dirt. Sew patches of old fabric to random spots on the jeans. Also apply the fabric to a shirt. Cut it up a bit and smear it with dirt too. Mess up your hair by teasing it ( using a comb and brushing backwards toward your scalp ) or just messing it up with your hands.
If desired, put some dirt in your hair too. Either wear miss-matched shoes with holes or an old pair of miss-matched socks on your feet. Put a tiny bit of dirt on yourself. For a treat bag on Halloween, find a long, sturdy stick and tie a piece of cloth onto it using its four corners. I hope this helped!
I had 2 shirts that were too worn out for a thrift shop. I saved the buttons since they mismatched the costume's shirt buttons and use them if and when a button breaks and the cloth part I used for patches. I also take advantage of thrift shop finds since they are cheaper than buying at a Halloween shop. I have as much fun making the costume as wearing it.
