Buying candy on Halloween night made me laugh because it reminded me of what happened 36 years ago. I was hugely pregnant (he came 12/5) and had worked all day. I stopped by my regular grocery and the shelves were stripped bare.
I was too tired to go to another store, so I asked one of the employees if there was any more candy in back. He said, no, and suggested boxes of raisins. I was desperate, so that's what I bought.
I could hear the kids complaining as they stepped off my porch. "She's giving out RAISINS!"
Can't say as I blame them--don't give me raisins when I want a chocolate bar. And raisins, I've since found out, can be worse for your teeth.
Oh, and "leftover chocolate"? What is that? ;)
its the same as"leftover wine",i think!xxx
