This craft is a great use for empty toilet paper rolls. These can be used to hold candy, or suspended by a string as a decoration. Depending upon their age, children can help.
Total Time: 10 minutes max
Yield: one bat per roll

Supplies:
- 1 toilet paper tube
- 1 sheet black construction paper
- 1 sheet scrap white paper
- black pen or Sharpie
- tape
- scissors
Steps:
- Cut a piece of black paper to cover the roll. Secure with tape.
- Completely flatten the roll.
- Stand the roll up and fold one side in, creasing at the fold.
- Repeat with the other side.
- Turn the roll over and fold the other side the same way.
- Draw bat wings on the black paper. Have two pieces stacked, when you cut them out, so each wing will be exactly the same.
- Tape the wings to each side of the bat.
- Cut out circles for eyes from the scrap white paper. Fill in with black pen or Sharpie. Tape or glue in place.
- If you are using for candy, secure the top and bottom with tape. Otherwise, you can suspend from a string as a decoration.
